On October 28, the Thoracic Cancer Management Team of the UAB O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine hosted the 2023 UAB Lung Cancer Update. Robert Cerfolio, M.D., MBA, current director of the NYU Langone Lung Cancer Center and former UAB professor of surgery, delivered the keynote speech, “Leadership, Ego, Dogma, and the EQI,” after which Benjamin Wei, M.D. discussed Pulmonary Segmentectomy and Sublobar Resection. The update also hosted UAB clinical and research faculty discussing novel lung cancer screening and pathology, robotic bronchoscopy, proton therapy, palliative care, and more.
