I have earned my BS and MS from Toyama University in Japan. My research interest is the regeneration process in echinoderm larvae and asteroid phylogeny. Most of my research was conducted off the coast of Seattle, Friday Harbor Laboratories, University of Washington. After completing my Ph.D. from UAB, I took a post-doc position at Dauphin Island Sea Lab. I have taught various courses/undergraduate laboratories over the years.
