The UAB Institute for Human Rights (IHR) hosts semesterly Lunch & Learn sessions for IHR-affiliated faculty as a space for collegial exchange, collaboration, and shared learning. These informal gatherings provide faculty with the opportunity to discuss current research, teaching practices, community-engaged work, and emerging issues related to human rights.
Lunch & Learns are designed to strengthen interdisciplinary connections across campus, highlight ongoing faculty work, and foster dialogue around the role of human rights scholarship and practice at UAB. Sessions may include brief presentations, facilitated discussions, or roundtable conversations, depending on the topic and semester.
Additional details, including dates and themes, are shared with IHR faculty each semester. Learn more about IHR membership and how to apply by reviewing our membership information. Email us with ideas of topics you would like to see covered.
Activities Statement: The purpose of all UAB Institute for Human Rights (IHR) programs, activities, and endeavors is to foster collaboration, scholarly exchange, and academic learning related to human rights. All UAB faculty are welcome to attend.
