PhD, Developmental Psychology concentration, 2013

Dr. Anjana Madan Morris graduated from UAB in 2013 with a Ph.D./MPH dual degree in Psychology with a concentration in Developmental Psychology and Health Behavior, working under the primary mentorship of Dr. Sylvie Mrug. She completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Miami in 2015, where she focused on the mental health outcomes of children, adolescents, and young adults with chronic illnesses. She then worked at the Health Council of South Florida in Miami, Florida, until 2017, where she worked on projects with the Department of Health in Miami and needs assessments for hospitals and health centers in the community. However, after moving approximately 100 miles away from Miami, the long commutes to work became challenging! She was very fortunate to find a remote position as an academic editor with Research Square, a company based in Durham, North Carolina, whose mission is to help international scientists who are non-native English speakers get their work published in English-language journals. She currently lives in Key Largo, Florida, with her husband and one-year-old daughter.
