  • Provide infrastructure and leadership for continued participation in the Lead Academic Participating Site (LAPS) for the National Clinical Trials Network (NCTN) by enhancing and increasing recruitment into Cooperative Group Trials.
  • Coordinate renewal of the NCI Center of Quantitative Imaging Excellence designation for CT, MR, and PET imaging by supporting investigator-initiated and cooperative group prospective clinical trials that focus on novel imaging biomarkers.

Advanced Cancer Response Evaluation

  • Analyze research study protocols to identify the correct tumor metrics and response criteria needed to support all oncologic trials with imaging end points.
  • Provide standardized tumor response evaluation services for oncologic research studies using CT, MRI, PET CT, and PET MRI tumor metrics as outcomes.
  • Coordinate physicians reads and tumor response evaluation to facilitate timely oncologic treatment.
  • Leverage artificial-intelligence and guided workflows to reduce errors and improve accuracy, standardization, efficiency, and inter-observer agreement in tumor response evaluation.
  • Provide access and resources for primary investigators, biostatisticians, and administrators to evaluate tumor response outcomes at the level of a patient, study, tumor type, program, and cancer center.

Imaging Biomarker and Artificial Intelligence Algorithm Development and Validation

  • Guide protocol development and support investigator-initiated research studies that focus on imaging biomarkers, from concept development through publication.
  • Develop image acquisition protocols that support imaging biomarker development and validation.
  • Provide bulk image de-identification and transfer services to facilitate population science, imaging biomarker testing and validation, and artificial intelligence algorithm development and validation.
  • Perform advanced radiomics analysis on every patient that present for tumor metrics services.

  • Protocol Review/ Research Quote

    https://redcap.dom.uab.edu/surveys/?s=PJPANNA439

Select Protocol Review/Research Quote and submit.

This will open an electronic Request form.

Complete the form, you will be required to upload your protocol and if applicable an imaging manual. Please upload any other documents you would like Radiology to review.

After you complete the form, select the Submit button at the bottom of the page.

Clicking Submit will automatically email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and no further action is required in order to have your study reviewed.

**Upon Radiology Research’s completion of your review and quote, you will receive an email with the details of your quote/budget.

If you would like to exit the database select “close survey” or to select “New HISF Request” to choose another task without logging out of RedCap

  • Image Transfer request

    https://redcap.dom.uab.edu/surveys/?s=PJPANNA439

    Select Image Transfer and Submit

Begin entering study data onto electronic form.

There will be a green box that state’s: “How many participants are in this image transfer request form.” *You may select up to seven, if you have several image transfers on the same trial and want to avoid entering multiple electronic forms, you will select the option to enter more than 1 patient here.

For each patient you will have a separate data entry box.

If you have an actual imaging form that, we need to complete (not one done electronically with the upload). Select YES - “Is there a data transmittal form”.   When you select YES – you will be required to upload the form.

At the bottom of the form, there is a special instructions/comments box.  An imaging coordinator will view this, please feel free to provide any information you want in this box.

Click Submit and the request will sent to Radiology Research.

Upon completion of the transfer, you will now receive an emailing notifying you that the transfer is complete.

If you would like to exit the database select “close survey” or to select ”New HISF Request” to choose another task without logging out of RedCap.If you would like to exit the database select “close survey” or to select ”New HISF Request” to choose another task without logging out of RedCap.

    Phantom Requests

    https://redcap.dom.uab.edu/surveys/?s=PJPANNA439

    Complete the electronic form.

Anytime you need phantom images submitted to your sponsor, you will now select Phantom Scan from the task menu.  You will be required to mark if the phantom is the Qualification phantom or Quality Control/Longitudinal imaging.

  • Tumor Metric Request

**this is only required if you did not Order the imaging exam with metrics in IMPACT.  This task is replacing the manual email/form for studies not ordered with metrics.

    https://redcap.dom.uab.edu/surveys/?s=PJPANNA439

You will be required to mark if this is a new baseline or a follow-up scan.

There is also a box for special instructions/comments. An Imaging Coordinator will review this field so any additional information you need to share please place here.

Click submit and the request will be sent to Radiology Research.
