Nataliya Ivankova, Ph.D., MPH – Co-Director

Professor and Director of an online graduate certificate program in Applications of Mixed Methods Research in the Department of Health Services Administration, School of Health Professions. As an applied research methodologist with extensive experience in mixed methods, qualitative, community-based, action and translational research, she is internationally recognized for her multiple research publications, investigator role on numerous research projects including cancer survivorship and health disparities, and her service as a founding Co-editor of the Mixed Methods Research Series (Sage), an Associate Editor for the Journal of Mixed Methods Research, and a section editor for qualitative and mixed methods research of the 4th edition of the International Encyclopedia of Education (Elsevier).

Ronit Elk, Ph.D. – Co-Director

Professor in the School of Medicine; Division of Geriatrics, Gerontology and Palliative Care, and Associate Director of the Center for Palliative and Supportive Care and the Southeast Institute for Innovation in Palliative and Supportive Care. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Using Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR), a social justice approach, her NIH-funded research focuses on partnering with minoritized communities, in particular African American communities, to develop culturally-based healthcare programs and trainings.
