Christine Blass, D.M.D., has been selected to the UAB Healthcare Educator’s Academy. She will represent the School of Dentistry as a member of the 2023-2025 cohort.

Having earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine from UAB in 2016, Blass joined the UAB faculty as an adjunct instructor in 2017. She was later promoted to assistant professor and was named Program Director of Postdoctoral General Dentistry in January 2021. She also serves as an associate scientist in the UAB Center for Clinical and Translational Science.

Leading the UAB Hospital Dentistry program, her areas of expertise include general dentistry, as well as dental care for medically complex patients and patients with special needs.

The UAB Healthcare Educator’s Academy fosters the careers of educators in the health professions by providing programming to stimulate and support innovative approaches to teaching, learning, and assessment. Launched in 2019, the academy is a partnership between UAB Heersink School of Medicine and the Schools of Dentistry, Health Professions, Public Health, and Nursing.
