The Alternative Master of Arts in Education in Early Childhood Education is designed for individuals who hold an undergraduate degree in a field other than education and wish to earn Class A teacher certification for ages birth-third grade.

Coursework takes a minimum of 55 semester hours to complete and includes courses with a focus on play, diverse learners, teaching math, science and literacy, and social-emotional development, as well as fieldwork and an internship (student teaching).
