Graduate student Mostafa Jafarzadehfadaki recently was honored with the 2024 Outstanding Graduate Student Paper by the Southern District Institute of Transportation Engineers (SDITE).

Jafarzadehfadaki is a graduate research assistant at the UAB TREND Lab, where he pursues a doctoral degree with emphasis on transportation under the mentorship of Virginia Sisiopiku, Ph.D.

His research focuses on the role of micromobility in the changing urban mobility landscape. 

A UAB BlazerBest Graduate Research Fellow, Mostafa is also the recipient of the 2021-2022 Outstanding International Ph.D. Student Award for the School of Engineering and the 2023 Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering Outstanding Graduate Student. To date, he has published seven technical papers as author/coauthor and has presented his research at local and national transportation conferences. He has been an officer of the UAB ITE Student Chapter since 2021, serving as UAB ITE Student Chapter president in 2022-2023.
