Central Alabama Water crews are back on 7th Avenue South to continue the water main replacement project. This phase of work covers 7th Avenue South between 16th Street South and 18th Street South, where crews are installing a new water main. Work in this area is expected to be complete by Friday, Oct. 16, weather permitting.
The work zone will move along the corridor as crews progress. Drivers should expect the following impacts during construction:
- Traffic: 7th Avenue South westbound lane is closed, between 16th Street South and 18th Street South.
- Parking access: Entrances to parking lots and decks along 7th Avenue South will stay open throughout construction.
- On-street parking: Parking will be restricted near the active work area.
This work continues the project that began in August between 15th Street South and 16th Street South.
