Helena is employed by the University of Alabama System and is assigned to assist the Harbert Institute on legal issues. She is a member of the Alabama state bar and practices primarily in the areas of corporate, contract and intellectual law. Helena received a B.A. and M.A. in Jurisprudence from Oxford University in 1988 and 1990, respectively. Prior to joining the University of Alabama System, she practiced law in the United Kingdom (1988- 1993), with Bradley Arant, a Birmingham law firm (1994- 2000) and HealthSouth Corporation (2000- 2006).
