Dear 1917 Clinic Volunteers,
In support of the health and well-being of our wonderful volunteers, as well as those who work in the clinic, we are suspending all volunteers until further notice. Please note the news updates and alerts as they come from UAB and follow those guidelines as these will be the guidelines we also follow. We will welcome you back with open arms when the coast is clear.

  • Do you have cold symptoms, fever, cough or sneezing?
  • Have you been in close contact with anyone who is sick or who has tested positive for Covid 19?
  • Have you traveled in the last 30 days outside the U.S. to China, South Korea, Italy, Iran, Venezuela or Japan?
  • Have you traveled elsewhere internationally and had a layover or flight change in one of the above countries?
  • Have you traveled in the last 30 days to any of these states: California, Washington, Maryland, Utah, Kentucky, New York, Oregon, Florida, New Jersey, North Carolina, Massachusetts, or Colorado?

Please understand that this situation is highly fluid and will likely change over the next few days/weeks. We will keep you updated of cancellations or postponed advisory board events or other groups and will do our best to keep you informed of additional changes. You can expect further communication from us no later than the end of May. And of course, we thank you for your service and your commitment to the safety and well-being of UAB patients and staff. Please let us know if you have any questions.

We appreciate all of you! Be well!

Shirley Selvage, Volunteer Coordinator
