Regional Anesthesia for Reconstructive Breast Surgery, Regional Anesthesia for Orthopedic Trauma Surgery, Alternative Techniques for Difficult Airway Management

Dr. Godlewski is a proud native Texan. After completing his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch - Galveston, he moved to Oklahoma City for residency. Upon finishing residency, Dr. Godlewski spent time in private practice before joining the faculty of the UAB Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology and has achieved Certification in Basic Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography.

Dr. Godlewski’s clinical interests lie in the performance of Regional Anesthesia to reduce perioperative pain, anesthesia for liver and solid organ transplantation, and management of the difficult airway. He is a member of the American Society of Regional Anesthesia as well as the Society for Airway Management. Dr. Godlewski’s research is centered primarily on the application of novel regional anesthesia techniques to surgical procedures such as reconstructive breast surgery and orthopedic trauma surgery as well as the application of new techniques to the challenging airway. He is very passionate about education in anesthesia and thoroughly enjoys teaching medical students and residents. Dr. Godlewski also feels strongly about the physician’s duty in patient advocacy and education and strives to instill this in his students and residents. He is proud to have been nominated for the Dean’s Award for Medical Excellence.
