Biography

Rachel C. Falkner, M.D., F.A.A.D., earned her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology at the University of Alabama before entering medical school at UAB's Heersink School of Medicine. Following graduation from medical school in 2013, she completed internship and residency training as an active duty officer at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. For 8 years, she served as an officer and physician at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in Ft. Hood Tx and at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, GA. She returned to UAB as a faculty member for Dermatology in 2025. She prides herself on providing efficient yet thorough care for each of her patients and believes education is a cornerstone to delivering optimal medical care. When not at work, she enjoys reading sci-fi/fantasy or historical fiction, doing yoga, and spending time with her husband and four children.
