Biography
Dr. Hunt is a board-certified dermatologist and fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, specializing in a broad range of dermatologic care. She loves to care for patients and families of all ages ranging from infancy to older adulthood.
Dr. Hunt grew up in Hoover, Alabama and attended Hoover High School. She started her career in business and engineering at the University of Alabama.
As an undergraduate, she gained national attention and was named "USA Today National Academic All-Star" for creating a self-sustaining peer mentoring program which measurably improved students' computer science performance at Alabama.
Her extensive work experience at Huron Consulting Group and GE Healthcare helped her realize that she would be most fulfilled in the field of medicine, helping patients one-on-one.
Dr. Hunt completed her medical education and dermatology residency at the UAB's Heersink School of Medicine in 2019, serving as chief resident during her final year. As an Assistant Clinical Professor, Dr. Hunt earned one of the highest patient satisfaction scores for the entire UAB system (100%).
Dr. Hunt specializes in immunocompromised dermatology (HIV, transplant, oncodermatology) and remains committed to medical education at UAB. She also sees adults and children for medical, surgical, and cosmetic problems in the community. She maintains expertise in treating medical problems with procedural interventions (e.g., dermal filler for HIV lipoatrophy, hyaluronidase for scleroderma-induced microstomia, laser modalities for Hailey-Hailey disease, etc.).
Sharing her passion with others, she continually gives lectures and writes publications. She co-authors the "Fungal Diseases" chapter of the premier dermatology textbook, Bolognia Dermatology.
She is now an Associate Clinical Professor and continues to see immunocompromised patients at UAB. She teaches dermatology and primary care residents on a daily basis.
