Biography

Dr. Phan graduated San Jose State University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and a Minor in Chemistry. In 1986, she received her medical degree at Howard University in Washington, D.C. She interned at UC Davis and the VA Medical Center in Martinez, CA in their Internal Medicine departments. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, CA in 1989. She then became a faculty member in the Internal Medicine Department at Loma Linda University. Interested in skin, she completed a dermatology residency at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. She then opened her own private practice in San Jose, CA, in 1993 before moving her clinic to Montgomery, AL in 1996 where she has stayed since. In 2022, Dr. Phan became an Assistant Professor for UAB's Department of Dermatology.
