Message from the Chair

I am happy to share the 2025 Year in Review for the UAB Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This year, I want to highlight the remarkable stories from our department that have contributed to our patient care, research, and education initiatives. Over the past year, we continued to provide compassionate, expert care for women’s expert.

Our team has consistently set high standards in clinical care, reflecting our commitment to innovation, safety, and excellence. We have continued to improve upon both evidence-based and personalized patient experiences, ensuring that every patient receives intentional and compassionate healthcare. This year, our work has paid off in many ways, from growing multiple interdisciplinary clinics and services across campus to setting a world record for delivering the most premature quadruplets.

Our research efforts have reached new heights this year, advancing knowledge across women’s health. From breakthroughs in preventing maternal morbidity and mortality to improving anemia treatment protocols, our work is making a real difference in the standard of care for women’s health.

Education remains a cornerstone of our department. Our trainees consistently reach new milestones and cultivate a passion for women’s healthcare that will benefit the next generation. By providing comprehensive, world-class education across all areas of women’s health, we continue to develop the next group of leaders in OB/GYN.

This year, our department also marked several notable achievements in patient- and community-focused initiatives.

I am honored to work alongside a team of dedicated and collaborative faculty, trainees, and staff who show up every day to make a difference. As chair, my vision remains focused on fostering an environment of innovation, intention, and excellence, with our patients and their families at the center of every case. This Year in Review captures our mission-driven approach, celebrating the people, programs, and progress that define the UAB Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
