Biography

Dr. Carr received his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 2010. He completed his Transitional Year internship in Evanston, IL at Northshore University Health System followed by advanced training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UAB. He works as a physiatrist and works alongside the vascular surgery team as an acute-care consultant and liaison for Spain Rehabilitation Center. He focuses on education of patients prior to an amputation to counsel patients on pre-prosthetic rehabilitation, management of phantom limb pain, and will follow patients long-term at Spain Rehabilitation Center to help prescribe prosthetic limbs and improve patient’s functional outcome. He is the director of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Consult service and is also the medical director of Orthotics and Prosthetics. In addition, Dr. Carr has an interest in electrodiagnostic studies and performs electromyography and nerve conduction studies at The Workplace at UAB Highlands as well as at Spain Rehabilitation. These studies are done to diagnose neuropathy, nerve entrapment including carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel, radiculopathy, and plexopathies.
