    The nurse on call will speak with you about your health and determine what actions need to be taken. If someone does not answer when you call, please leave a message with your name, your date of birth, and the best phone number to receive a return call.

  • + When to Call 9-1-1
    • Difficulty breathing

    • Rapid, painful breathing and/or shortness of breath

    • Weakness on one side of the body

    • Slurred speech

    • Unresponsive, sudden change in behavior, confusion

  • + When to Call the Nurse Immediately
    • A temperature of 101 degrees or higher

    • Severe headache

    • Cough with chest pain and fever

    • Pain not controlled with prescription pain medication

    • Vomiting or Diarrhea that does not go away and your child also has decreased urine output

  • + After Hours Medical Care

    Adult Patients

    If you need to speak to someone about a medical problem outside regular office hours (8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday), please call (205) 934-3411 and ask to speak with the Hematology Physician on-call. If for any erason you cannot reach the designated individual providing coverage, you should go to the Emergency Department at the University Hospital, located on 18th Street South between 5th and 6th Avenue.

    Pediatric Patients

    If you need to speak to someone about a medical problem outside regular office hours (8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday), please call (205) 638-9100 and ask to speak with the Hematology Physician on-call. Please use after hours number for emergencies only.

  • Where Can I Park & How Much Does It Cost?

    UAB Russell Clinic (Adult Patients)

    Parking is located in the 4th Avenue parking deck. at 2100 6th Avenue South. Enter near the corner of 18th Street and 4th Avenue South. The rates are $2 for the first hour and $1 for each additional hour. The most you will pay in a 24-hour period is $8 for each day. A 7-day pass is $30.00. A 30-day pass is $100.00. You can pay either at the lobby kiosk or at the exit gate.
