Biography
Peter Abraham, M.D., MSPH, joined the UAB Department of Breast & Endocrine Surgery as an assistant professor in August 2026.
Dr. Abraham obtained his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University and matriculated to UAB where he completed his general surgery residency. While completing his residency, he also earned his MSPH in biostatistics. After residency, he stayed on campus — becoming the UAB Section of Endocrine Surgery American Association of Endocrine Surgeons (AAES) fellow. Through this fellowship, Dr. Abraham gained extensive exposure to cutting-edge and advanced/minimally invasive techniques in thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal surgery, including radiofrequency ablation, ultrasonography, radio-guided parathyroidectomy, laryngoscopy, and all approaches to adrenalectomy.
He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Society, as well as the American College of Surgeons, Society of Asian Academic Surgeons, and the Association of Academic Surgery.
