Helen Krontiras, M.D., director of the Division of Breast and Endocrine Surgery, has named Catherine Parker, M.D., chief of the Section of Breast Surgery and Brenessa Lindeman, M.D., MEHP, FACS, chief of the Section of Endocrine Surgery.

Parker serves as the vice chair of patient experience for the department and the program director for the UAB Breast Surgery Fellowship, while Lindeman also serves as the chief wellness officer of the UAB Department of Surgery and program director of the UAB Endocrine Surgery Fellowship.

Krontiras is pleased to have Parker and Lindeman stepping into these newly-appointed roles.

“Both Drs. Lindeman and Parker have shown tremendous dedication to the division,” said Krontiras. “I look forward to seeing how each of them help the division grow and improve in the academic, clinical, and research fields.”

Faculty in the Division of Breast & Endocrine Surgery are committed to providing personalized, comprehensive care for patients with a broad array of benign and malignant tumors. We treat patients with neoplasms arising in the breast or thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands.

The division collaborate with members from the Department of Radiation Oncology, the Division of Hematology and Oncology, the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, the Division of Plastic Surgery and the Department of Genetics to guide patients through the surgical decision-making process and provide innovative, advanced diagnostic and therapeutic options.
