Women's Reproductive HealthcareThe UAB Division of Women’s Reproductive Healthcare (WRH) is committed to the academic tripartite mission of clinical care, education, and scholarship. The division provides routine and specialized obstetric and gynecologic services for women of all ages. The division includes academic specialists in general obstetrics and gynecology, pediatric and adolescent gynecology, family planning, minimally invasive gynecology, and gynecologic ultrasound. Our academic offices are located within the UAB Women and Infants Center.

Our team of board-certified or board-eligible physicians and women’s health nurse practitioners provide the complete spectrum of obstetric and gynecologic care to women at all stages of life. Multiple faculty members in the division have been recognized by their physician peers and patients as “Best Doctors” and as “Birmingham’s Best” doctors.

WRH actively participates in the training and development of medical students and residents within the department, specifically focusing on ambulatory care, low-risk obstetric care, and surgical benign gynecology. Residents and medical students participate in a mix of complex surgical cases arising from both our faculty clinical practices and the Continuity Clinic.

WRH also contains a two-year fellowship in pediatric and adolescent gynecology. The fellowship not only includes education in clinical care for pediatric patients, but also includes established time for education and research including completion of a novel research project prior to graduation.
