UAB Faculty Recital featuring Gene Fambrough, percussion, 7:30 p.m. in UAB Mary Culp Hulsey Recital Hall, 950 13th St. South. The program will include music from traditional marimba etudes by Clair Omar Musser and a new marimba solo by William Price, UAB assistant professor of music. Featuring special guest Thomas Hooten, principal trumpet of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, with UAB music faculty Marc Reed, Steve Roberts and the Blazer Trumpets. On the program:  "Fanfare for St. Edmundsbury" by Benjamin Britten, "Legende" by Georges Enesco, Concerto in Eb major by Vincenzo Bellini, Concerto in F minor by Oskar Bohme, Concerto for 7 Trumpets and Timpani by Johann Ernst Altenberg, "Heralding" by Ronald LoPresti and  "A Hoffnung Fanfare" by Malcolm Arnold.
