Alumna O’Keefe receives 2015 AAOHN Golden Pen Award

O'Keefe, PhD, CRNP, Director of the Faculty and Staff Clinic at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) College of Nursing, has received the 2015 Golden Pen Award from the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses (AAOHN). O'Keefe earned her PhD from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing in 2013.

The Golden Pen Award recognizes Workplace Health & Safety Journal contributors for excellence in writing. This year the AAOHN presented two awards, one to an experienced and one to a novice author. O'Keefe was selected to receive the experienced author award for her article "Policy Perspectives in Occupational Stress" which appeared in the October 2014 issue of the AAOHN journal.

She received the award on March 25, 2015 at the annual AAOHN conference in Boston, Mass.

The mission of the AAOHN is to ensure that occupational and environmental health nurses are seen as the authority on health, safety, productivity and disability management for worker populations.
