Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

The BSN Program offers three distinct pathways, the traditional four year Prelicensure BSN Pathway, the RN to BSN Pathway for RN's with an Associate's degree in nursing that want to earn a BSN degree, and our new Joint Enrollment Pathway that allows students to earn an Associate Degree and the BSN degree in nursing at the same time.

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)

The MSN Program offers three distinct pathways, one for Nurse Practitioner offered in 9 different specialties, one for Health Systems Leaders offered in 3 different specialties, and an Accelerated Master’s in Nursing Pathway (AMNP) for individuals with bachelor’s degrees (or higher) in a non-nursing field who desire a career change to nursing.

Doctoral Programs

The UAB School of Nursing offers two doctoral degrees. The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), a practice–focused terminal degree and the Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing (PhD), a research-focused terminal degree. The DNP and PhD lead to different career paths, both of which make highly important contributions to nursing and health care.
