University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing Assistant Professor and Co-Coordinator of the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Specialty Jennifer Drummonds, DNP, CRNP, ANP-BC, FPCNA (MSN 2012, DNP 2018), has been selected as a Fellow of the Preventive Cardiovascular Nurses Association. Fellowship in PCNA recognizes distinguished contributions to cardiovascular disease prevention, leadership in clinical practice and a sustained commitment to advancing cardiovascular health through education, research and advocacy. She was inducted in April at the PCNA Annual Cardiovascular Nursing Symposium.
“Being named a PCNA Fellow enhances my role as faculty at the School by strengthening my commitment to evidence-based preventive cardiology, advancing student education and improving cardiovascular outcomes in the communities we serve,” Drummonds said.
Drummonds is a two-time graduate of the School and a certified Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. She teaches in the School’s Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Specialty—ranked No. 7 in the nation and No. 1 in Alabama—and maintains a faculty practice at the UAB Gardendale Cardiology Clinic, serving her hometown community. With nearly 30 years of nursing experience and more than 16 years in cardiovascular care, her clinical work is distinguished by high patient satisfaction and strong productivity. She also has specialized training in resistant hypertension. Drummonds serves as Chapter Leader for the Central Alabama Chapter of PCNA and is a member of the Educational Committee within the Alabama Chapter of the American College of Cardiology Cardiovascular Team.
