Position Availability:

Fall 2018 – Spring 2023

Description:

Students will be involved in nutrition research primarily related to intermittent fasting, meal timing, type 2 diabetes, and obesity. Students also may assist with research on the effect of food groups on diabetes and cardiovascular disease.  Students will observe and learn a lot about how clinical trials are conducted.  Duties will primarily include monitoring and recruiting participants but will also involve other activities, such as analyzing data on sleep and physical activity; applying and working with blood sugar monitors and associated data; helping write papers or do literature searches; helping manage food logistics; and/or learning how about how researchers measure blood sugar control, calories burned, and body fat levels.

Desired Student Attributes:

Hardworking, reliable students interested in nutrition and/or biomedical research. Must be good at managing and paying attention to details. Must be able to work at least 7 hours/week. Positions available for more than 1 student.
