Shannon, a Center Manager for Drayer Physical Therapy at their Trussville location, helped Tim Alexander –UAB Football Director of Character Development –take his next step more than a decade after his last step when he was paralyzed in a car crash in 2006.

Carolyn Da Silva, PT, DSc, NCS, alumna of the UAB School of Health Professions’ Department of Physical Therapy, was awarded the 2016 Outstanding Physical Therapy Faculty Award, recognizing merit in teaching, service, and reseach. She is the first UAB alumna to win the William Gould Memorial honor from the Texas Physical Therapy Association (TPTA).

When Ron Kleinman, PT, was looking for a college to attend he wrote, that’s correct - he physically wrote, to the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and asked for a list of the best Physical Therapy schools in the United States. The APTA wrote back and placed the University of Alabama at Birmingham at the top of the list and Kleinman was soon on his way south from Ohio.
