Event Date: Tuesday February 16, 2027
Deadline for Registration: Friday, November 13th, 2026

We’d like to invite you to participate in our annual UAB Concert Band Invitational on Tuesday, February 16, 2026. As always, our event will be held at the beautiful Alys Stephens Center on the campus of the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

The UAB Concert Band Invitational offers outstanding school bands the opportunity to perform in a beautiful venue for high-quality educational performance experience. Nationally-respected evaluators will provide written and recorded comments for your ensemble in a positive, non-competitive environment. Our hopes are to offer a comprehensive look at the quality of your group’s performance and to give feedback that will help you and your students to move to the next, higher level for your current situation. The evaluators for this year’s event are yet to be announced.

Following your onstage performance, each band will receive a 30-minute clinic from one of our evaluators and an audio recording of that clinic. Your band will also receive a professional audio recording from the performance. The cost of the festival is $200 for the band entrance fee and $100 for a second ensemble if you choose to bring one.

Directors select their own repertoire. Each middle school band will receive a 30-minute stage time, and each high school band will receive a 30-minute stage time (40 by request) (Time includes music, stage entrance, and exit).

Bands will be requested to attend a minimum of 2 other bands’ performances on the day of their performance.
