I am presently serving as an adjunct instructor for the Graduate Degree Program for Teaching English as a Second Language at UAB. I am also the Elementary ESL Resource teacher for Shelby County Schools.  I provide support to teachers and students across the county.

During over thirty years in the field of teaching, I have served as an ESL teacher as well as a third, fourth and fifth grade teacher. I love sharing the knowledge I have learned through the years with others. I have served as a Mentor Coordinator pairing new teachers with a mentor who helps them adjust to the teaching field as well as polish their skills as an educator.  For many years I worked with the ALAHASP program at UAB, training teachers all over the state of Alabama in the steps for effectively implementing hands on science kits in their classrooms. My goal is to assist teachers in becoming effective educators who meet the needs of all learners.

I have a BS in elementary education from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. I earned an MA in Education with ESL certification from UAB. In May of 2013, I earned an EdS in elementary education and Class AA from UAB.

My husband and I have been married for more than thirty years and live in Alabaster. We have two daughters, a son in-law and two wonderful grandchildren. We are blessed beyond measure! I love reading, singing, and sharing knowledge with others.
