Why did you choose UAB?
It gave me the perfect balance — close to home but still a new environment. Everyone felt so welcoming & this felt like a place where I could be involved & make connections!
Why did you choose your major?
I chose elementary education because I wanted to be able to make a positive impact on young kids’ lives! I believe that a strong foundation in the early years can shape a child’s whole future & I want to play a part in building that foundation!
What is your favorite thing about the UAB School of Education and Human Sciences?
My favorite thing about the UAB School of Education & Human Sciences is the professors, advisors, & students who always have your best interest at heart & want to see you succeed!
What class have you enjoyed the most so far at UAB?
My education classes where I am able to go shadow other teachers in the area!
What piece of advice would you give a prospective SOEHS student?
Take every chance to be in the classroom — that’s where you really learn. And enjoy it! UAB has so many resources and people who will help you if you just reach out.
What are your plans after you graduate from UAB?
To teach at a local elementary school!
