In December, the School of Engineering hired Christy Peters to join the Dean's Office as an Alumni Affairs Specialist. Peters will work closely with Development Director Robert Blakely as well as departmental personnel to develop and maintain close ties with the engineering alumni family.

Peters is coming to the School of Engineering from UAB’s School of Dentistry, where she served for almost three years as a Development Coordinator. She has her bachelor’s degree in Communication and Information Science from The University of Alabama and is currently working on her Master of Public Administration at UAB. Peters recently acquired her Non-profit Management certificate from UAB as well.

Before coming to UAB, Peters was a development coordinator at Bradley Law Firm focusing on events, materials, research, and development opportunities for multiple practice groups.

She and her husband Michael have a 10-month-old son, Caleb.
