L&D Specialist 
Alison Kniseley is a Learning & Development Specialist. In her role, she facilitates New employee orientation along with professional skills sessions.
She has over 20 years of training and facilitation experience. Before coming to UAB, she spent two and a half years as a training instructor for a computer training company in Birmingham, teaching software courses and computer networking. Her first role at UAB was as a Systems Specialist, working with a large database. She worked on the Oracle team before and during implementation, training employees on the system. She was a computer trainer and is presently a developer and facilitator of professional skills programs.
Alison received her B.S. in Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and completed her Master’s in Education Leadership, focusing on Higher Education, in May of 2007. She is also a certified DISC Behavioral Analyst
She likes to walk outside and do strength training. Her favorite color is purple, and her favorite movie is Disney’s The Lion King.
O.D. Specialist 
Amber has been with the UAB community since August 2008. She has a wealth of knowledge in leadership assessment and development, coaching, team effectiveness and engagement, leadership change, and program customization for new and aspiring leaders. Her desire to help others professionally started immediately after college, teaching secondary math and science courses in the Jefferson County School System. Her close attention to performance improvement, curriculum instruction, and educational leadership lead her career at UAB. Amber serves on the Learning & Development team at UAB, providing faculty and staff with continuous leadership and training programs. Amber has a Masters of Science in Counseling.

O.D. Specialist 
Tammy is an O.D. Specialist with the Learning & Development team. Tammy has 25 years of combined Learning and Leadership Development experience and served as an Internal O.D. Consultant supporting multiple healthcare systems nationwide with Ascension St. Vincent’s for seven years.

Tammy earned her B.S. from Florida State University. She studied Interpersonal Communications and Psychology. Certifications include PHR, Master Change Agent, and Strategic Workforce Planning. Tammy is a 2017 Alumni of Momentum’s Women’s Leadership Program.
Tammy hopes to facilitate more workshops while providing O.D. consulting services to support partners across UAB. Tammy has dabbled in Community Theater and Birmingham’s local film community and enjoys bringing her love for the performing arts into her classroom.

Communications Specialist 
Hammond Lake is a creative professional with more than a decade of experience across the film and advertising industries. Before joining UAB, he worked as a Digital Media Specialist for the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA), where he led video and digital campaigns supporting student access to higher education. He also worked as the Senior Video Producer & Editor at Dudley DeBosier Injury Lawyers, creating multimedia content for outreach across the southern U.S., and served as the Associate Director of Marketing for University Advancement at Northwestern State University.
Throughout his career, Hammond has taken on a wide range of creative roles, including writer, director, editor, and producer. His short films have earned recognition at national and international festivals, and his commercial work has ranged from local businesses to well-known national brands. He has also led creative efforts for food and music festivals around the country.
Hammond is originally from Shreveport, Louisiana and he holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Liberal Arts from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. He also earned a Master’s in Advertising from Southern Methodist University’s Temerlin Advertising Institute in Dallas, TX.
When he’s not working, Hammond enjoys cooking, hiking, playing the violin, and collecting vintage coffee mugs and classic cinema memorabilia. A passionate storyteller, Hammond is excited to bring his creative energy and narrative skills to UAB.
