Location in the 1917 Clinic

There are two windows at which you can pick up prescriptions. One window is inside the Clinic to the right as you enter from the waiting room once you pass the receptionist. This window is convenient if you have medications to pick up following a visit. The other window is located in the hallway just past and to the left of the outer entrance to the Clinic waiting area. This window allows you to have your prescriptions filled by the Pharmacy if you do not need to see anyone other than the Clinic Pharmacist.

Payments and Insurance

Most major insurance is accepted (including Blue Cross/Blue Shield, PCS, VIVA UAB, Alabama Medicaid and Medicare part D plans). Please be sure to bring your insurance card with you when picking up prescriptions. You may pay with cash, check, VISA, MasterCard or Discover. If you have financial need, the Social Services department will work with the Pharmacy to meet all medication requirements. The pharmacy also handles and distributes all ADAP Medications.

We encourage patients to call in advance so the prescription can be ready. This will prevent long waiting times.

The 1917 Clinic Pharmacy is able to fill any prescription, from over-the-counter cold remedies to specialized study medications. If you need an item that is not normally in stock, the Pharmacy can order it and have it here the next business day. Please feel free to ask the Pharmacist any medication questions. The Pharmacist will explain the types of medications you are taking, proper dosages, any possible side effects, and how to take the drugs properly as well as potential drug interactions.
