Program Target/Who Should Apply

  • STEM Masters and Ph.D. graduates
  • Clinical practitioners who wish to transition into a more teaching-focused role
  • Recent BA/BS graduates who want to teach at secondary or community college levels are also encouraged to apply

Application Requirements

Initial Application 
UAB's MS in Anatomy follows the application program for the Graduate School at UAB. Thus, all scholars must apply through the UAB Graduate School.

  • Application Deadline: March 1, 2024
  • 3.5 GPA (lower scores considered on a case-by-case basis. Previous graduate work demonstrating academic ability will be considered.) 
  • No test score requirement
  • Letter of Intent/personal statement (Why do you want to study anatomy?)
  • Transcripts
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Resume/CV required
  • Personal statement
    • Please note: This program does not require test scores (i.e. ACT, SAT, GRE, MCAT, DAT, etc.).

Interview
Upon review of all applications, applicants will be selected to complete a virtual interview with program directors and faculty in the Department of Cell, Developmental and Integrative Biology (CDIB) department. 

Admission
Upon approval of admission, applicants will receive a letter indicating their admission to the Master’s in Anatomical Sciences program. Once received, students will be required to register for courses for the summer semester. Most summer semester courses are available online, but fall semester requires campus attendance.
