In January of this year, Barbara Gower, Ph.D., was named chair of the Department of Nutrition Sciences. During Women’s History Month, the UAB Comprehensive Diabetes Center (UCDC) sat down with Gower, who is a member of the center, to learn more about her journey to chair and her vision for the department.

Sasanka Ramanadham, Ph.D., co-authored the paper recently published “A proteomic meta-analysis refinement of plasma extracellular vesicles” in the peer-reviewed journal Scientific Data.

The American Diabetes Association (ADA) selected Kirk Habegger, Ph.D., associate professor in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism and scientist in the UAB Comprehensive Diabetes Center (UCDC), as the cohost of the new podcast DiabetesBio of its flagship journal Diabetes.
