Research programs 1

The DOPM is home to a robust and innovative program of research across four primary areas: cardiovascular disease, diabetes/obesity, cancer prevention and control, and substance, use misuse, and abuse.  Within these four areas, our faculty and staff conduct research across the clinical and translational spectrum from genetics and basic sciences to social/behavioral studies to dissemination and implementation projects to large-scale epidemiological studies and public health interventions.  Much of this work is united by a focus on health disparities and health equity, with an emphasis on understanding and addressing issues faced by traditionally underserved populations.
