UCEM Supports Equal Access Birmingham through Heart+Sole 5K

The Center for Exercise Medicine was proud to be a part of the 2016 EAB Heart+Sole 5K/Kids Run held Saturday, August 20th at Crestline Elementary School. The event hosted by Equal Access Birmingham raises funds for the School of Medicine student-run free clinic which provides education and health care to Birmingham's uninsured and underserved. EAB was created in 2005 to both improve healthcare access for underserved populations in the Birmingham area and provide UAB medical students with service learning experiences. Student volunteers see approximately 400 patients per year at the EAB Clinic.
