Our orthopaedic surgery residency program offers a five-year experience delivering comprehensive clinical training with an academic focus. Residents rotate with 26 full-time, fellowship-trained faculty covering all orthopaedic disciplines, exposing them to the latest in state-of-the-art technology and procedures in every subspecialty.
Training takes place at several institutions, including University Hospital, UAB Highlands, Children’s of Alabama, Veterans’ Administration Hospital, and American Sports Medicine Institute. All these facilities are within just a few miles of each other, making it possible for all residents to attend divisional conferences and lectures.
2022 Residency Open House & Virtual Case Sessions
Get to know UAB Orthopaedics! Third- and fourth-year medical students are welcome to join us for an in-person open house. Over the course of this two-day event, you will have the opportunity to discuss case studies, get hands-on training, and network with current trainees and UAB faculty. Limited spots are available, RSVP today! |
Additionally, we are excited to offer all medical students the chance to discuss real case studies with expert surgeon-scientists in our virtual Interactive Case Studies series. This 5-part series offers an interactive learning environment in small groups rather than in large webinars or big conference halls. |
