Interview Format and Details

Due to COVID-19, all residency interviews will be conducted virtually for the 2021-2022 recruitment season.

Our interview day begins at 8:00am Central Time. All applicants will participate in program informational presentations and meetings with leadership from 8:00-10:00am. Applicants are then split into two even groups with individual interviews scheduled either 10:00am-12:00pm or 1:00-3:00pm, with a 15 minute wrap-up at the end of each individual interview block. Applicants will be assigned to morning or afternoon interview groups one week prior to the interview date.

Chief Residents host a virtual social hour on the evening prior to the interview. Attendance at this event is not required to be considered for a position, but we hope that applicants are able to attend, as this is a fun opportunity to get to know our residents in a casual setting.

We embrace a holistic interview process in order to take into consideration applicants’ experiences and attributes, as well as the value an applicant would contribute to our program’s educational mission. All interviewers participate in implicit bias training. Interviewers are blinded to applicants’ ethnic and racial background, work authorization/VISA status, hometown, USMLE/COMLEX scores, medical school transcripts and MSPE’s.
