Bio
From California to Florida, Sterling Jones, M.D., has called a lot of places home, but he considers himself a Virginian at heart. He met his wife in college out west and is the father of two spunky girls. When he’s not mastering the fine art of picking mashed pasta and peas out of high chair crevices, you'll often find him prowling the neighborhood with his daughters, on the hunt for wildflowers, insects, birds, and any other critters brave enough to cross their path. Otherwise he enjoys perusing DK Smithsonian coffee table books, struggling to stay caught up with the Disney cinematic universe, and harnessing the power of AI chatbots to pretend to be a programmer.

Hi, I'm Bonnie Beth Moore from Olive Branch, MS. I went to Delta State University for undergrad, where I majored in chemistry and cheered for the fighting okra. I attended medical school at UMMC in Jackson, MS. I moved to Birmingham for my internship at Brookwood Baptist. I'm now a radiology trainee at UAB with a focus in undergraduate medical education and wellness.
I have the most precious pup, Pepper, and make a mean sourdough. I take care of a bunch of houseplants and am trying to start a vertical garden. I'm super close with my family and even convinced a my mom and sister to move to Birmingham because I love it so much! Even before they got here, my co-residents felt like family. I was born at a very young age, spending my formative and many subsequent years in the beautiful state of Utah. I grew up spoiled, skiing "The Greatest Snow on Earth," and enjoying the renowned National Parks Southern Utah offers. I met my wife during undergrad at BYU, and was married with two children before beginning medical school. Since that time we have added two more children to our crew! I was fortunate enough to match in the Integrated Interventional Radiology program at UAB, where I have trained under the auspices of many talented attendings and colleagues, including my co-integrated IR resident Dr. Eric Keasler, who believes his procedural skills are unmatched. My family and I love our home life in the suburbs outside of Birmingham. We've found many beautiful outdoor adventures to enjoy. Our current post-training plans include a job with Radiology Associates, PA, working in Northwest Arkansas.

UAB checks all the boxes in terms of hospital size, presence of subspecialists, and volume, but the camaraderie among both trainees and attendings is UAB Radiology's greatest strength! I have absolutely enjoyed my time with fellow trainees but also enjoy interactions with our faculty. The atmosphere is very collegial. I have always felt supported.

I was born and raised in Austin, TX and spent all my years in Texas prior to coming to Birmingham. I met my wife in med school and we felt like we both fit well into the UAB culture, so despite leaving home it was an easy decision to come to Birmingham. In the four years that have passed thus far, we have made amazing friendships, experienced incredible training, and thoroughly enjoyed the Birmingham area and all it has to offer. My wife is also currently training as a Pediatric Critical Care fellow here at UAB. Our family continues to grow with the additions of our daughter Hanna in 2021 and a baby boy due in Fall 2023. We have two wonderful pups: an Australian Shepherd named Wrigley, and June, the silliest little dog that we adopted from Decatur in 2020. No matter where the road takes us when our training is finished, we have loved Birmingham, UAB, and the people that make our programs so great. In my spare time, I love just hanging around with my family, fishing, playing the guitar/piano, board games, and painting. Most importantly, I’m a humongous Texas A&M fan.

Hey everyone, my name is Majd Habash. I am a first generation Syrian American born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. Being a part of two distinct cultures has helped me to appreciate and value the importance of diversity and inclusion, and constantly reminds me that our similarities as people are much greater than our differences. I loved traveling to Syria every summer to visit family growing up, getting to learn and tap into such a rich and unique culture. And at the same time, I valued growing up with my American friends and their families, and participating in their fun traditions and ways of life. I am a simple kind of guy, don't need too much to be happy, just good company and good food. What better place to call home than Birmingham, Alabama.
What do you love most about being a UAB Radiology Resident?
I love that UAB Radiology can offer the opportunities of a high-powered academic center, but with a warm and personable work environment. You can't find that combination just anywhere, and that is something UAB Radiology fully embodies. We are taught by some of the best radiologists around, and are treated with respect, support and care. I am very thankful to be training at such a wonderful program with such great people.
