Biography
Russell G. Day, M.D., FACEP is an assistant professor within the Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery in the Department of Surgery. He also has faculty appointments in the Department of Emergency Medicine and the Department of Medicine. He serves as the Medical Director of SOCMID, the United States Air Force's Special Operations Center for Medical Integration and Development, which is located at UAB.
Before coming to UAB, Day held a variety of roles both stateside and deployed in operational, educational, and clinical capacities across the United States Air Force.
Day is a graduate of the UAB Heersink School of Medicine, then completed a General Surgery Internship at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium, an Emergency Medicine Residency at Wright State University/ Wright Patterson AFB Medical Center, and a Multi-Disciplinary Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at The University of Michigan.
