It is important to have a well-defined and effective Administrative Core that supports the institution-specific activities of the MSM/TU/UAB Partnership. A main objective of this core is to provide the leadership and direction that fosters interactions among the Lead-Principal Investigators (Lead-PIs), PIs, co-Leaders, investigators, and the leadership of the partnering institutions. This core functions in four areas: (a) day-to-day oversight, (b) coordination, (c) support and logistics, and (d) appropriate coordination and communication (see Partnership Coordination/Communication Plan), leading to an integrated, multi-institutional Partnership to enhance its multiple interactions and to achieve its goals and objectives. The communications and integration of activities within and among the partnering institutions are accomplished by institution-specific Program Managers.
