Mission

The Cystic Fibrosis care team has developed an integrated practice unit where multiple and multidisciplinary providers can evaluate patients during a single clinic visit and deliver state-of-the-art care. The program works closely with our pediatric colleagues and the greater Cystic Fibrosis community to provide seamless care while developing rigorous quality improvement initiatives with public transparency of outcomes.

Objectives

The Cystic Fibrosis Program is also integrated with the UAB Cystic Fibrosis Clinical Trials Unit and the Gregory Fleming James Cystic Fibrosis Research Center.  The Center is recognized internationally for its transformative clinical and basic research, including the development of new therapies for the treatment of this devastating disease. About Our Practice

The UAB Program for Cystic Fibrosis Program is equipped with a team of health care personnel to provide comprehensive, evidence based clinical care for adult patients with cystic fibrosis. The program is supported by a full-time multidisciplinary team made up of multiple physicians and nurse practitioners, a clinical coordinator, a social worker, and a dietitian.  This program is accredited by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and currently cares for over 180 individuals with Cystic Fibrosis.
