Bordelon elected AAMN Vice President

University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing Associate Professor and Interim Assistant Dean for Graduate Clinical Education Curry Bordelon, DNP, MBA, CRNP, CNE, NNP-BC, CPNP-AC (DNP 2016), has been elected Vice President of the American Association for Men in Nursing (AAMN).

Bordelon was the AAMN Birmingham Chapter President from 2018-2022 and led the development and expansion of the group. Bordelon says his experience and accomplishments with the local chapter will guide him in this national leadership role.

"I am honored by this opportunity to serve at the national level and look forward to expanding diversity in nursing while raising awareness of the need for improved men's health care," Bordelon said. "AAMN is recognized as a leader in diversity within nursing and I look forward to working with the AAMN board and membership.”

In 2020, Bordelon received the AAMN Lee Cohen Award, which recognized his contributions to the chapter’s development and membership growth. The School was awarded AAMN's Best School for Men in Nursing in 2019, 2020 and 2021.

Bordelon is also President of the Nu at-Large Chapter of Sigma and serves on the Executive Committee for the Academy of Neonatal Nursing.

Bordelon will begin his term October 2022 and will serve alongside UABSON alumnus, Blake Smith, MSN, RN (MSN 2017), President of AAMN.
