Birmingham Chapter-at-Large of the AAMN at UAB

PRIMARY MISSION

The primary mission of the Birmingham Chapter-at-Large of the AAMN at UAB is to be the acknowledged local and regional organization for men in nursing.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this organization is to provide a framework for nurses as a group to meet, to discuss, and influence factors which affect men as nurses.

OBJECTIVES

1. Promote nursing as a viable career pathway for men in support of increasing the diversity of the nursing workforce.
2. Support and mentor men in nursing to grow professionally and to become leaders in the nursing profession.
3. Promote the contributions of men in nursing to excellence in clinical practice, education, and research.
4. Advocate for education, research, and health policy in support of improving the health of men and other risk populations at the local, regional, and national levels.
5. Support collaboration across disciplines and nursing professional organizations in support of achieving these objectives.

NATIONAL ORGANIZATION

The Birmingham Chapter-at-Large of the AAMN at UAB is a local organization for the national organization, AAMN.
