CANCELLATION of Primary Eye Care Update Due to COVID-19

Dear Colleagues,

There remain no known cases of COVID-19 at UAB, or in Alabama, at this time. But in keeping with CDC recommendations to exercise caution, the UAB School of Optometry Primary Eye Care Update continuing education seminar, scheduled for April 3-5, will now be consolidated with the Fall Continuing Education seminar on August 21-23. While inconvenient, we believe this is the best decision for the health of speakers, attendees, and employees.

We invite all registered attendees to put their registrations forward to the Fall Continuing Education seminar on August 21-23, at Volker Hall. The meeting agenda and speakers will remain the same or similar, and will offer 18 hours of live continuing education courses, including 6 hours of CEE/TQ.

Alternatively, you may push your registration fees toward the 2021 spring seminar to be held on March 12-14, 2021. Of course, if you are unable to make either of those dates work with your schedule, we will offer a full refund and work with you on getting that back to you quickly.

Please let the Continuing Education office know as soon as possible if you would like to put your registration toward one of these meetings. We will be reaching out to each person individually to make sure everyone has heard the news.

The UABSO Continuing Education office apologizes for the inconvenience this causes you as you are preparing to renew your professional license. We sincerely hope you can join us in August.

Continuing Education

The UAB School of Optometry's continuing education goal is to provide quality continuing education, lifelong learning and professional development for practicing optometrists.

In the exploration and extension of knowledge, optometrists are provided with world-class continuing education and information useful in their daily practice and treatment of patients.

Our courses provide continuing education credits for use in re-licensure requirements. Our faculty are focused on fulfilling our mission of quality learning and program excellence. You will find that the university setting is a prime venue for continuing education. We hope that you will plan to participate in our upcoming education events.
