UAB health plans cover preventive vaccinations, including MMR, at 100% for children — and adults. Do you need one? Are you sure?

Although most campus operations will be suspended on this day, including bus and van service, essential services will continue.

Four training sessions are planned in May to help faculty, staff and students learn to use BlazerPulse, an online platform adopted to promote community engagement.

The results are encouraging and also offer insight on ways to continue to improve.

John Meador has announced that he will retire in early 2020 after 50 years as a university librarian, and UAB will begin a national search for a new dean.

Timothy Wick, senior associate dean in the School of Engineering, will become its interim dean Aug. 15, replacing Iwan Alexander, who plans to join the faculty.

Unit-level results will be provided to senior leadership April 10, and campuswide results will be shared in two events April 18.

Andrew J. Butler, Ph.D., is expected to start at UAB July 1.

Each year the UAB Commission on the Status of Women presents these awards during Women’s History Month to honor women in the UAB and Birmingham communities who have mentored or served other women, taken a courageous stance or overcome adversity to achieve a goal. They will be honored during a special ceremony March 20.

The proposals, which support new approaches to instruction and learning in a team environment, reflect the "incredible diversity of creative scholarship" at UAB.
