UAB Human Resources’ HR Information Systems (HRIS) team is rolling out a new weekly resource to give employees immediate help with the systems they use every day. Called HRIS Empower U, the live Zoom sessions each Wednesday will offer real‑time assistance from HRIS experts — no ticket submission required. Sessions start at 10 a.m. Feb. 18.

Despite rising health care costs nationwide, health insurance and dental premiums will not increase for 2026, and there will only be a slight increase in vision premiums. For UAB to remain competitive in the market, stay in line with national benchmarks and keep costs down as much as possible for all employees, there will be plan design changes for 2026.

Employees must submit self-evaluations, have conversations with managers, and managers must complete evaluations by Sept. 30. Eligible full-time (01) and part-time (03) regular-status employees in Workforce Group A will complete self-evaluations in the UAB Perform App; all faculty evaluations will continue to be uploaded into the UAB Perform App.
