TIAA-CREF is a tax-sheltered annuity program which offers the individual a choice as to the distribution of the total deposit to be placed in TIAA (fixed annuity), CREF (variable annuity), and CREF (mutual funds). UAB matches the individual employee’s contributions up to 5 percent of gross monthly pay (not to exceed $230,000 annual UAB salary). Eligibility for matching is limited to full-time regular monthly-paid employees.
